onceLabs (“we”, “our”, or “us”) built the BLE Hero app as a utility tool intended for engineers and software developers working with Bluetooth LE technology. This app is provided as-is and is intended for use as a tool for development and testing purposes.

1. Information We Collect

No Personal Information Collected

We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) through the app.

Bluetooth Data

The app accesses Bluetooth functionality for the purpose of scanning, connecting to, and interacting with nearby BLE devices. Data such as device names, MAC addresses, services, characteristics, signal strength (RSSI), and advertisement data may be displayed to the user in real time but is not stored or transmitted off-device.

Crash Logs (Optional)

If crash reporting is enabled via third-party tools (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics), anonymized crash data may be collected to help us improve app stability. No personal or device-identifiable information is included.

2. Permissions

The app may request the following Android permissions:

  • Bluetooth & Bluetooth Admin: To scan for and connect to BLE devices.

  • Location (Approximate or Precise): Required by Android for BLE scanning, even though we do not use or store your location.

  • Nearby Devices (Android 12+): To access BLE devices in proximity.

These permissions are used solely for the operation of BLE features and are not used to track or profile users.

3. Data Storage

All BLE-related data is processed and displayed in real-time and is not stored persistently on the device or transmitted off-device unless explicitly exported by the user.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties.

5. Children’s Privacy

This app is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
